Sunday 22nd June 2008, A very sad day for all of us here, and everybody at Concord Autograss club as the news hit us that Niall had passed away following a motorcycle accident.
Niall had raced for many years, starting at Boreham with a Rover V8 class 10 which had seen better days but this definatley planted the seed of ambition for Nialls Autograss career.
The V8 lasted longer than even Niall thought it would before finally being rolled to destruction at Boreham, Niall was not dispondant at this and vowed to come back as soon as possible with a better and faster Class 10 as soon as finances allowed.
Niall had always admired my Class 10 and it was time for me to look at a new project and i wanted my car to go to a good home, so a deal was done for him to buy my transverse Montego Turbo car, complete with a 10 year unlimited mileage/unlimited race warranty !!!
Niall has raced his pride and joy ever since, sharing it with the other love of his life Lynn Thomas, even though it has gone through various engine changes and a new colour scheme .
Niall loved his racing and even though he never had the luck he deserved, in fact some years he had more than his fair share of bad luck, he always bounced back and was happy to be part of the piss taking that goes hand in hand with the good and BAD times.
Niall will be VERY sadly missed and the Autograss world will be a much quieter place without him !!!
